Testimonial Cont'd.
I decided to have hair replacement surgery in August of 2005 for my thinning hairline and chose a nationally advertised hair clinic. I was party dissatisfied with the results after a few months. I had a contract for 1000 grafts and felt that this would solve my hair loss problem. It did make a small improvement, but I felt like I was being worked on by a doctor with minimal experience. The end result made my hairline too thick and my grafts were placed in unnatural positions. While it improved the thickness of my hair, it created other issues in the process.
Another issue from the national hair clinic is that one of the technicians told me that they had only placed 700 grafts when my contract was for 1000 (and 1000 was written down by the physician).
I would advise anyone to do their research before choosing a clinic. My first choice was not the right decision. I felt that since they were a large company, they would be professional, but I was wrong. These nationally advertised clinics seem more interested in making money than giving professional results and even make you sign a disclaimer that states that they do not guarantee results, which seems a lot different than their advertising. I am not implying that a doctor would intentionally mess up someone’s hair, but it is a matter of experience versus inexperience, hence the disclaimer. There seems to be a lot of turnover with these doctor, which makes it difficult to know whether you’re getting someone with six months or six years of experience. You should expect expert results when it comes to your appearance. In my opinion, the advertised credentials of these clinics are overblown.
I already knew a little bit about Dr. Arocha after reading his bio on the internet when I started thinking about hair replacement surgery. I didn’t know if he was still doing this type of work, but as fate would have it, I saw that he had his own practice through a website. I made the call because I knew I had to find someone that could make a professional improvement on the work I’d already had done.
I was immediately impressed with his knowledge, experience and he was caring, concerned and genuine. I was so impressed that I decided to use him for my corrective procedure. Still apprehensive from my first experience, the difference was not even comparable between the two surgeries. He and his staff were extremely professional and their skill, knowledge and experience were untouchable in my opinion. He understood that this was a major decision for me to make and is truly trying to help individuals meet their needs.
My procedure was on a Saturday afternoon at 1 pm, and I left at 6:45 pm. They took their time to do things right and it was all about pleasing me, the patient. How many doctors that you know would schedule an appointment on a Saturday? None that I’ve met aside from emergencies. The procedures and equipment he uses are the best in the industry and the time and attention given to his patients is incredible.
If you are concerned about your sutures being detected, if you have any hair length, no one will be able to detect them after his office. This is quite the contrary from my first experience. I plan to go back to Dr. Arocha so he can address some additional needs I have concerning my hair. You will be making the right decision if you choose Dr. Arocha for your first class hair replacement surgery. He will also work with you to design a financial plan that fits your budget and it seems to me that Dr. Arocha is more concerned with helping his patients than making money.
Another really impressive thing about Dr. Arocha is that he called me at 9:30 pm on a Friday evening to see if I was having a safe trip and called me again on Sunday to check on me and make sure I’d made it back home safely. I had to drive a few hours each way, and I don’t believe any other surgeon would have given it any thought, much less on a weekend. This shows that he is a great person, cares about his patients and in my opinion, nobody surpasses his experience in hair restoration.
Do not be tricked by the organizations that do a lot of fancy national advertisements as I was. Make the best decision for yourself and make an appointment to see Dr. Arocha. It will be the best decision you can ever make for your hair needs. All of the other national organizations are performing assembly line work. Dr. Arocha’s relationships will last a lifetime. If you wish to speak with me about Dr. Arocha or hair restoration surgery, ask him for my phone number and I will be happy to talk with you about my experience.
With appreciation,
Alan B.
